In Taiwan, Yilan County, nestled between mountains and sea, is full of natural charm. It is, therefore, an ideal location for being away from the hustle and bustle and finding our inner peace. Daily Blossom Stay & More is a delicate homestay situated in Yuanshan, a township known for its high-quality water resource and beautiful hilly terrain in Yilan. It is founded by the famous BLACK HOUSE Café owner Mayves Huang and its designer CIAN-HONG LIN. Due to their previous successful and pleasant experience working together, they decided to collaborate again and incorporate their experiences in Europe into this new project.

“After graduating from Fu Jen Catholic University, I went to Italy, as did Mr. Lin. We both like Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, which is why we chose to live there for a certain period of time.” said Mayves. Dressed in a cozy style, both of them are fond of the relaxed vibe of the European countryside. After returning to their homeland, they have always dreamed of recreating a similar atmosphere in their daily environment.

“The idea was to create a place that feels like Mediterranean.” said CIAN-HONG, who was in charge of the architectural design of the house. “People might ask why the building here really makes them feel Mediterranean. That’s because the architectural details have been carefully crafted.” He pointed out that many things in Italy are still handmade and it’s all about details. In order to achieve the same quality, they spent a lot of budgets on recreating the right texture. Sandstone paint, stucco and the rounded edges of the house are the essential elements that contribute to making the impression. Even the garden fountain was meticulously hand-shaped.

Mayves, who worked for high fashion brand and used to like bold clothing with contrasting colors, prefers now subtle outfits, natural materials and earth-tone, which brings a sense of peace for her. In line with such a preference, the soft furnishings materials she chose for Daily Blossom Stay & More evoke a charming and inviting atmosphere. The guesthouse decorated by wooden furniture, soft cotton sheets, and handcrafted artistic pottery fulfills our longing for a cozy residency experience. She also carefully selected plant-based fragrances for each room, making everyone feel more relaxed. “The rooms are named after plants, and the fragrances are also plant-based, with healing properties. We want guests to feel and have a total experience engaging the five senses.” said she.
